Momma

She lay her hand on top of mine
And looked at me for a very long time
Her hands so cold I tried to warm
There’s no more time for hate or scorn

She is melting away and nothing but bones
And cries if we leave her,one second, alone
The pain is great and the fear surreal
So I rocked her gently and quelled her fears

I promised her everything would go alright
That the time has come to move to the light
We said our good byes our apologies and such
The time together has meant so much

Please God grant her peace and open your arms
Please open your gates and let her see heaven”s charms
